EXPANSION OF MEMBERSHIP OF THE ECONOMIC POLICY COUNCIL

WHEREAS, on March 4, 1998, Executive Order 98-2 reestablished the Economic Policy Council; and

WHEREAS, on June 10, 1998, Executive Order 98-2.1 increased the size of the Economic Policy Council by one member; and

WHEREAS, the purposes of the Economic Policy Council are better served by increasing the size of the Council by two additional members.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LINCOLN ALMOND, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, do hereby order as follows:

1. The membership of the Council shall consist of twenty-two (22) members as follows: the Governor; the Director of the Economic Development Corporation; eighteen (18) members of the public chosen by the Governor; the Speaker of the House of Representatives or designee as an ex officio member; the Senate Majority Leader or designee, as an ex officio member.

2. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately upon the date hereof and, to the extent it is inconsistent, shall supercede Executive Orders 98-2 and 98-2.1.
