MEMBERSHIP OF THE INTER-AGENCY COORDINATING COUNCIL FOR HANDICAPPED INFANT AND TODDLER PROGRAMS

WHEREAS, on October 8, 1986, the federal government enacted a state grant program for handicapped infants and toddlers; and

WHEREAS, that grant program required the formation of a state inter-agency coordinating council; and

WHEREAS, Executive Order 87-7 established the Inter-Agency Coordinating Council for Handicapped Infant and Toddler Programs whose membership met the requirements of the grant program; and

WHEREAS, the federal government recently amended the grant program to change the membership requirements of all inter-agency coordinating councils; and

WHEREAS, all councils are now required to include at least one representative from a Head Start agency or program in the state.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LINCOLN ALMOND, by the authority vested in me as the Governor of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, do hereby order as follows:

1. The membership of the Council shall be increased to include one (l) representative from a Head Start agency in this state.

This Executive Order shall cake effect immediately upon the date hereof.
