THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRBSENTATIVES: In accordance with the provisions of R.I. Gen. Laws § 43-1-4, I am transmitting herewith, with my disapproval, 95-H 5490, "An Act Relating to the Right of Inspection by Governmental Agencies." This legislation would allow a state agency or abutting municipality to inspect any state-owned airport or landing field for compliance with stale or municipal laws. This legislation is unnecessary because R.I. Gen. Laws § 1-4-15 already allows state and municipal officials charged with enforcing the Uniform Aeronautical Regulatory Act to inspect and examine state airports. Moreover, no law exists precluding other state and municipal officials from reasonable access to enforce applicable state and local laws. For these reasons, I disapprove of this legislation and respectfully urge your support of this veto. Sincerely, Lincoln Almond Governor
