DISSOLUTION OF EMERGENCY HIRING COUNCIL


WHEREAS, pursuant to Executive Orders 95-2 and 95-23, an Emergency Hiring Council was created as a temporary measure to assist in proper management and control over the State's personnel and associated fiscal resources; and

WHEREAS, the Emergency Hiring Council was advisory in nature subject to the state budget officer's express/ final decision-making power over personnel decisions pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws §35-3-1; and

WHEREAS, the process for filling new and vacant positions in State service has been appropriately managed by the Department of Administration and the budget office.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Lincoln Almond, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby order that:

1. The Emergency Hiring Council created by Executive Orders 95-2 and 95-23, is officially disbanded as of the date of this Order.
