TERMINATION OF STATE OF DISASTER EMERGENCY DUE TO OIL SPILL

WHEREAS, pursuant to Executive Order 96-2, a state of disaster emergency was declared due to a severe oil spill off the coast of Rhode Island; and

WHEREAS, the barge leaking the oil has been removed from Rhode Island waters, thereby ending the threat of danger from additional oil discharge.

NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me under the Constitution of the State of Rhode Island and R.I. Gen. Laws §§ 43-3-28 and 30-15-9 it is hereby Ordered that:

1. The state of disaster emergency declared at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 1996 is no longer necessary and Executive Order 96-2 is therefore terminated as of 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 1996.
