Executive Order 96-06 May 22, 1996 WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide continued viability to dairy farming in Rhode Island and the northeast and to ensure consumers an adequate supply of pure and wholesome locally-produced milk; and WHEREAS, the Governor, on behalf of the State of Rhode Island, has entered into an agreement with other northeastern states to form an interstate dairy compact and the General Assembly has approved and ratified the Northeastern Interstate Dairy Compact through R.I. General Laws §; and WHEREAS, the United States Conarsss consents to the Northeast Interstate Dairy Compact entered into among the States of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont; and WHEREAS, the Northeast Interstate Dairy Compact requires the establishment of a commission to administer the compact composed of delegations from each state in the region. NOW THEREFOR, I, LINCOLN ALMOND, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, hereby order as follows: 1.
