Executive Order 96-11.1

TERMINATION OF HEALTH EMERGENCY IN WESTERLY

WHEREAS, pursuant to Executive Order 96-11, a local-state of emergency was declared, within the Town of Westerly; and

WHEREAS, the health emergency in that community was caused by a significantly high level of Eastern Equine Encephalitis Virus in multiple and widespread species of local mosquitoes; and

WHEREAS, remedial measures and weather conditions have abated this health risk.

NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me under the Constitution of the State of Rhode Island and R.I. Gen. Laws § 30-15-9 it is hereby Ordered that:

1. The state of health emergency in Westerly declared at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 1996 is no longer necessary and Executive Order 96-11 is therefore terminated as of 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 1996.
